The primary purpose is to provide accounting, financial analysis and financial reporting expertise to support the Controller’s Office.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
(1) Accounting and financial analysis for the Plant Fund, Temporary Restricted Fund, Fixed Assets, Contributions Receivable and Long Term Debt. (2) Assist in the preparation of monthly interim financial statements and annual year-end audited financial statements. Work closely with external auditors during year end close. (3) Preparation of annual IPEDS Financial Section and other compliance reporting. (4) Complete reporting required in compliance with debt agreements. (5) Administration of corporate insurance. Complete annual renewal of corporate insurance coverage, file claims and request certificates of insurance. (6) Complete special projects and other requests for information and analysis. (7) Assist in monthly close, including preparation of various general ledger journal entries and other analysis. (8) Perform other related duties as assigned.
A college degree, preferably in Accounting Two to five years of experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excel, Word and Banner proficiency Ability to communicate with colleagues of all levels within the University and with external contacts at banks, law firms, insurance companies, etc.
Job may require lifting light weight objects (1 to 10 pounds) with no repetitive bending or stooping. Occasionally lift average weight objects (1 to 10 pounds).
Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office.
