The Finance-Sponsored Programs office is looking to hire a Customer Service Consultant. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to work as part of a collaborative team environment and provide financial guidance and oversight for a portion of the University’s 8,000+ active sponsored projects portfolio.
Provide customer service to internal and external customers
Serve as the relationship manager for a defined set of University units
Establish, modify and monitor sponsored projects
Review and approve financial transactions, insuring compliance with University and sponsor guidelines
Participate in various internal and institutional projects/teams
Coordinate and/ or assist with external audits of sponsored projects
Serve as a team lead to two or more customer service accountants
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (minimum 8 accounting courses)
5+ years of experience in sponsored research accounting, University of Michigan Sponsored Programs office experience preferred
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Business Objects, eRPM and M-Pathways/PeopleSoft
