Controller

Reports To:  Chief Financial Officer

Summary/objective:  Direct and oversee the finance, accounting and payroll functions of the corporation.  

Essential functions:

• Oversee operations of the accounting, payroll, tax and financial reporting functions.
• Prepare and analyze operating budgets, financial statements and forecasts for all operations.
• Develop tax-planning strategies and prepares corporate income tax provisions.
• Assist with valuations and due diligence related to acquisition opportunities.
• Develop and maintain proper internal controls in regards to accounting systems and processes.
• Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of all activities of the payroll and sales/use tax compliance functions.
• Responsible for all activities of the accounts payable, accounts receivable and credit collection functions.
• Encourage and support the professional development of staff through guidance, training, education and advancement.
• Responsible for personnel actions including hiring, performance management and termination.
• Align departmental strategy or direction with the overall goals of the organization.
• Other duties as assigned.

Managerial Responsibilities:  This role will manage five direct reports including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Financial Reporting and Accounting.
