Summary/objective: Direct and oversee the finance, accounting and payroll functions of the corporation.
Oversee operations of the accounting, payroll, tax and financial reporting functions.
Prepare and analyze operating budgets, financial statements and forecasts for all operations.
Develop tax-planning strategies and prepares corporate income tax provisions.
Assist with valuations and due diligence related to acquisition opportunities.
Develop and maintain proper internal controls in regards to accounting systems and processes.
Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of all activities of the payroll and sales/use tax compliance functions.
Responsible for all activities of the accounts payable, accounts receivable and credit collection functions.
Encourage and support the professional development of staff through guidance, training, education and advancement.
Responsible for personnel actions including hiring, performance management and termination.
Align departmental strategy or direction with the overall goals of the organization.
Other duties as assigned.
Managerial Responsibilities: This role will manage five direct reports including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Financial Reporting and Accounting.
Successful candidates for this role have:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
CPA is highly desired.
7+ years of financial and/or accounting experience with at least three years of people management experience.
A minimum of three years of public accounting experience.
Knowledge of GAAP and tax filing requirements.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
Professional verbal and written communication skills. An articulate individual who can relate to employees at all levels of an organization.
Self-motivated and able to execute independently with the ability to demonstrate sound judgement and resourcefulness in decision making and problem solving.
Ability to exercise discretion and handle confidential information.
A commitment to employee development.
Proficient to expert in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook).
Ability to remain professional at all times.
Ability for some travel, when needed, to other locations.
