About IHM Sisters
Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (SSIHM) is a congregation of religious women founded in 1845 and headquartered in Monroe, Michigan. The Motherhouse is home to over 100 IHM Sisters and others who reside in our long-term care facility, independent and assisted living areas.
The IHM Sisters are Catholic women bound together in faith. Urged by the love of God to respond to the most serious needs of our time, we pursue justice, peace and sustainable ways of life. Our community ministers in education, pastoral care, spiritual development, social services, mental and physical health, and social justice — throughout the continental United States and in Puerto Rico, Mexico and South Africa.
