Growing West Michigan Manufacturer, Extruded Aluminum, is recruiting for a controller with a strong background in Cost Accounting. This position is being created to provide integral support for our continued growth, particularly in the area of value-added manufacturing. This position will report directly to the VP of Finance and is a hands-on position with no direct reports, so the right candidate must have the ability and desire to dig into the operations and identify, research, analyze, present and implement solutions to challenges around quoting, pricing, invoicing and cost analysis as well as system implementation(s) and other general accounting duties. We have identified the following as key areas for this position to focus on, however, being a newly created position, the candidate will also have the opportunity to collaborate with the existing production, finance and sales teams to help further define the role. • Quoting, Pricing and Invoice Approval – the successful candidate will: o Work with sales, production and purchasing on the development of appropriate pricing. o Create price rules within our ERP system. o Review and approve customer invoices including special charges (i.e., set ups, certifications, contract pricing). o Respond to customer inquiries. • Cost Accounting – the successful candidate will: o Update and challenge the current determination of overhead rates. o Provide analysis and support regarding the profitability of various production runs. o Participate in the development and justification of capital improvement projects. o Upgrade the current reporting system around the margin earned on third party processing. • System Implementation and Improvement – the successful candidate will: o Assist in the implementation of new, or upgraded, systems – payroll, general ledger, content management. • General Accounting – the successful candidate will: o Prepare month end closing and reporting. o Complete monthly bank reconciliation and general journal entries o Support various analysis and reporting to banks, outside accountants, governmental agencies, and trade groups.

Requirements • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance, or equivalent experience; • CPA preferred; • Five or more years of progressive experience specifically in cost accounting, including profitability and pricing. Prefer experience in metals and/or in a continuous processing industry like extrusion; • Ability to work accurately and quickly under operational deadlines; • Ability to multitask and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to complete the necessary analysis and to present and implement recommendations; • Proactively drive towards meeting goals, deadlines and improving processes; • Excellent computer skills including MS Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint; • Ability to travel periodically to customers, and or suppliers, locations as needed; • Experience with 5S, Lean Manufacturing concepts; • Proven success in driving cost savings and process improvements;
