The University of Michigan Shared Services Center (U-M SSC) is a customer service organization focused on providing user-friendly and cost-effective administrative services to the university community. The SSC offers important financial and human resource transaction services to customers through consistent processes and promoting technology.
Reporting to the Technology Manager, the IT Applications Administrator will help support the Shared Services Center staff and their technology needs. This includes answering questions and troubleshooting issues with software, collaborating with teams on technical solutions to workplace problems, evaluating software and applications for use at the Center and working with University ITS on issues related to University-wide technology.
Please Note: This position is a two year term-limited role.
- Perform ongoing ITSM administration including evaluate, design, and debug TeamDynamix applications, integrations, workflows, reports, and forms. ITSM administration tasks also include creating templates, assigning user permissions, responding to and resolving high-level end-user issues through TeamDynamix ticketing.
- Support SSC staff and their use of cloud applications (including Google Suite, project management software, productivity software, etc.)
- Manage multiple applications including hoteling, project management and other productivity suite software.
- Coordinate with University ITS on projects related to technology (i.e. migration to cloud applications, implementation of new software applications).
- Help maximize SSC's investment in technology. This includes assessing new systems, new system functionality and its potential for playing a role in improving business processes.
- 3 or more years experience in one or more Information Technology disciplines.
- Experience with industry standard tools (ITSM platforms, cloud productivity suites, videoconferencing).
- 2 or more years of programming or equal combination of experience with Web API calls.
- A minimum of 1-2 years experience administering applications or software (i.e. Google Admin, ITSM admin)
- Working knowledge of service management methodologies (ITIL) and best practices.
- Experience working collaboratively with diverse teams of all sizes
- Excellent analytical and creative problem solving skills
- Experience collaborating on technical projects with non-technical staff
- Proficient in analyzing complex workflow processes
- Basic knowledge of several technical areas (dns, operating systems, web servers, database systems, SaaS concepts)
- Knowledge of project management and business analysis methodology and software(s).
- Experience in a Higher Education technology environment
- Knowledgeable in process improvement methods, procedures, metrics development, documentation and reporting.
- ITIL Foundation certification (v3 or above)
- Experience with Change Management
- Familiarity with Robotic Process Automation (RPA)
