JOB SUMMARY: The Business Office Accountant will be responsible for general accounting functions, and the maintenance of various financial records and reporting requirements for assigned accounts, plant funds, contracts and programs. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

Assist with preparation, monitoring, and adjustment of annual budget.
Assist with preparation and communication related to contracts.
Monitor and prepare reports and year-end schedules for all plant funds.
Coordinate all fixed asset schedules for the college to include depreciation calculations.
Develop, design, and implement approved solutions to improve results from activities.
Prepare revenue and cost analysis reports as required.
Prepare audit work papers, schedules and other reports as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the Chief Financial Officer.
SUPERVISION GIVEN: Provide supervision to personnel as assigned
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business with a major in accounting preferred. Advanced revenue and account analysis experience is required. Applicants in the process of obtaining a bachelor’s degree will be considered. Completion of degree is expected within 18 months. Advanced degree and /or CPA preferred. Demonstrated success in governmental or fund accounting preferred. Higher education experience preferred.
