Position Overview: This hybrid role is ideal for a CPA or CPA candidate with 4-6 years of experience in public accounting. While tax experience is preferred, this role focuses primarily on accounting and advisory work. The position involves both remote and in-person responsibilities, including local travel for client visits, networking events, trips to the post office, and facilitating workshops.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and review monthly financial closes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Conduct thorough research and utilize available resources to solve complex accounting issues independently.
Provide clients with insightful financial analysis and tailored business advice.
File sales tax returns and calculate estimated tax payments.
Serve as an audit liaison to coordinate and support audit processes.
Oversee accounts payable and payroll processes for clients.
Communicate with governmental tax agencies in writing and over the phone.
Interpret tax agency notices, explain them to clients, and develop resolutions.
Gather and prepare financial documents for client loan applications.
Create financial projections for clients to support growth and financing decisions.
Supervise remote team members, managing workloads, assigning tasks, and supporting their professional growth.
Track time spent on client work to ensure accurate billing.
Manage multiple projects, ensuring deadlines are met with high-quality output.
Represent the firm at networking events, client meetings, and other community engagements.
Build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their unique needs and challenges.
Innovate and streamline processes by effectively leveraging technology to support the firm’s growth.
Requirements
CPA or CPA candidate with 4-6 years of relevant experience in public accounting.
Strong understanding of small business accounting and advisory needs.
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online.
Ability to independently research and develop solutions for client challenges.
Excellent multitasking, problem-solving, and client-interaction skills.
